The role
Not a marketer who waits for a brief. Not an engineer who waits for a ticket.
You own organic social and go-to-market: content that fills the top of funnel, sequences that turn attention into pipeline, and the systems underneath both. We use our own product to grow our own business, so what you build becomes a case study, then a feature, then a reason customers buy. You will be measured on pipeline created, not posts published.
What you'll own
- Top of funnel through organic social. Build the content engine for Flywheel and the founders' accounts. Work out what earns distribution on LinkedIn and X right now, not in 2023. Turn engagement into a named list of humans we can reach.
- Sequences that convert. Design and run the full path from "someone reacted to a post" to "someone booked a call." You own the copy, the segmentation, the timing, and the numbers. If a sequence converts at 2%, you know why and what you are changing to get to 4%.
- The GTM system. Lead qualification, ICP, taxonomy, routing, attribution. The data infrastructure exists. We need a point of view on how to use it.
- Whatever you find. The role has a starting shape, not a fixed one. Find a 40% drop-off in onboarding and it becomes your project. Bring us the problem and the plan, then go.
What we need from you
Built something. AI native. Writes like a human. We care what you shipped, not the title you held.
- You have built and shipped your own product. Side project, indie SaaS, tool, agent, or app with real users. We want to see it, and what you learned when it did not work. This is the filter, not a nice to have.
- You are AI native in practice, not in bio. You run Claude Code or Cursor daily and wire up automations that do real work. When you need data from an API, you get it yourself.
- You have opinions about organic social. You can say why one post got 400k impressions and a near-identical one got 2k. Ideally you have grown an account, yours or someone else's.
- You can write. Plainly and with a voice. Most of GTM is writing. If your copy sounds like a language model wrote it, this is not the role.
- You self-direct. Nobody assigns you work every Monday. You look at the business, pick the highest-leverage thing, make the case, and execute. Then you say what happened, including when it did not work.
What we do not need
- Years of experience at a specific title
- Agency experience running someone else's playbook
- Someone who needs three people to unblock them
- "Growth hacker" as an identity
How we run the process
Short and real. No take-home puzzles, no six rounds.
- Intro call, 30 minutes. You walk us through something you built or ran.
- Paid work trial. A real slice of our GTM, roughly a week of your time, paid at your rate. You research it, plan it, and ship something. This is how we both find out.
- Founder conversation. Where this goes and what you want from it.
To apply
Send one message to alex@flywheelos.com. The three answers are the cover letter.
- A link to something you built or grew, and two sentences on what you learned when it did not work.
- One post that performed, one near-identical post that did not, and why.
- One thing about Flywheel's organic presence you would change in your first month. Be specific and be blunt.
Compensation: up to £45k base plus meaningful equity. This is a founding-team hire.
