    Founder's Associate

We hand you ambiguity, you return clarity plus a result. The job you take to learn how a company actually gets built.

    The role

Whatever matters most that week. No narrow lane. Strategy one day, the messy unowned problem the next.

You work directly with the founders. One week you are pulling data to settle a pricing decision, the next you are running a customer onboarding, the next you are writing the deck for a fund. If something is important and unowned, it is yours until it is done. You are the person who makes the founders' time go further.

    What you'll own

    • Solve the messy problem. Take a vague brief ("our onboarding is leaking") and come back with the data, the diagnosis, and a fix already underway.
    • Run a slice end to end. A customer account, a hiring process, a launch, a partner conversation. You own it from start to finish.
    • Build the internal machine. The systems and automations that make the team faster, documented so they outlast you.
    • Make what founders can't. Investor updates, decks, board materials, competitor teardowns. The things they need but never have time for.
    • Own the follow-through. Sit in on the conversations that matter, take the notes that count, and make sure nothing drops.
    • Put out the fire. Jump into whatever is burning and handle it.

    What this is

A launchpad, not a lane. For someone exceptional early in their career who wants range, or a former founder who wants to see how a venture-backed company scales. People who do this well tend to run a function or a company within a couple of years.

    What this is not

An assistant role, or a job with a tidy description and a steady queue of assigned tasks. If you need a fixed scope handed to you every Monday, this will frustrate you.

    What we need from you

Resourceful, AI native, trusted with the keys. We care what you shipped, not the title you held.

    • You are unreasonably resourceful. Dropped into a problem with no instructions, you find the answer. You teach yourself what you need and do not wait to be told how.
    • You are AI native in practice, not in bio. You use tools like Claude and Cursor daily and reach for an automation before a manual process. When you need data from an API, you get it yourself.
    • You have built or run something of your own. A product, a side project, a small business, an event, a community. Anything where you owned the outcome. We want to see it.
    • You write clearly and think in public. Most of this job is turning mess into a crisp document or a clear recommendation. If you can write a tight one-pager, you can do most of this role.
    • You have judgment about what matters. You tell the urgent from the important, and spend your time on the second without being told to.
    • You are trustworthy with the keys. This role sees everything: the numbers, the plans, and the conversations that stay in the room.

    How we run the process

Short and real. No take-home puzzles, no six rounds.

    1. Intro call, 30 minutes. You walk us through something you built or ran.
    2. Paid work trial. A real, messy problem, roughly a week of your time, paid at your rate. You go solve it. This is how we both find out.
    3. Founder conversation. Where this goes and what you want from it.

    To apply

Send one message to alex@flywheelos.com. The three answers are the cover letter.

    1. A link to something you built or ran, and two sentences on what you learned from it.
    2. One time you were dropped into something with no instructions and figured it out.
    3. One thing about Flywheel you would look into in your first month. Be specific and be blunt.

Compensation: competitive base plus equity. This is an early-team hire and the upside reflects that.
